We are loved for who we are. And we are loved for the stories we tell about what we would like to be. When a convicted murderer comes home to nurse his dying father he cannot bring a past to build their future on. But he does bring the promise of a new start and, foolishly or not, those who love him put their faith in that. A new start is, after all, hard not to fall in love with.
